Our Above and Beyond winner for November 2005 is Michelle Payne, Accounts Payable Processor extraordinaire! Michelle joined Desert Life approximately one year ago when Accounts Payable needed special attention. Michelle cleaned it up in short order and has done an outstanding job in keeping current, following policies and procedures, and tracking expenses for the facility.
What makes Michelle an Above and Beyond employee, however, is her assistance to all employees and her devotion to the residents. She recently hand-knitted a teddy bear for a resident so he would have a Christmas gift for his granddaughter. The bear meant more to that resident than anything any of us could have done for him. Also, Michelle is the first to assist any of us when we are having problems with the computer or need someone to develop a simple form.
